TO TELL A STORY
WHEN ASKED TO TELL A 24 FRAME STORY, MY TEAM CAME UP WITH THIS
Capturing Benny & Fatih’s Engagement in Central Park Some photo shoots carry a bit of serendipity, and Benny and Fatih’s engagement session was one of those moments. It was a week before the wedding, and the story leading up to this shoot was as memorable as the session itself. The journey began a year earlier, during a chance encounter at a French café. I was on the terrace of Le Bonne Soupe on 48 W 55th Street when Fatih, the bar manager, noticed the creative materials I was carrying. Curious, he struck up a conversation. That simple moment sparked a friendship — and now, a year later, I was back in New York, photographing his engagement session in Central Park. A Picturesque Engagement Session With wedding plans in full swing, Benny and Fatih chose Central Park as the setting for their engagement shoot. Central Park, with its lush greenery and iconic landmarks, provided the perfect backdrop for a mix of candid and posed shots. From Bow Bridge to Bethesda Terrace, every location added depth to their story. The park was alive with energy that day — musicians playing, tourists strolling, and autumn leaves dancing in the breeze. This bustling, dynamic environment reflected the excitement Benny and Fatih felt leading up to their big day, making it an ideal setting to capture their connection. Creative Vision in Motion The goal was to create a collection of images that told the story of their relationship in an authentic way. We moved through the park organically, allowing moments to unfold naturally. Their chemistry made every shot feel effortless, from playful laughs to quiet, intimate glances. The magic of New York came through in every frame, adding texture and character to the photos. This shoot required adaptability — shifting with the light, finding the right angles amidst the crowd, and capturing candid moments in motion. It was a reminder of the importance of being present, ready for the perfect shot at any moment. The Result: Moments Frozen in Time By the end of the session, we had created a set of images that felt timeless — a blend of spontaneity and intention. Central Park became more than just a backdrop; it was part of the story, highlighting the natural connection between Benny and Fatih. Closing Thoughts This shoot is a reminder of how unexpected moments can lead to meaningful opportunities. A friendly conversation over creative work at a café turned into a lasting friendship, culminating in an engagement session in one of the world’s most beautiful parks. Opportunities like these are why I love what I do. Photography isn’t just about capturing moments — it’s about connecting stories, places, and people in a way that makes them last forever.
